Alongside his personal projects, Lavro Ferenc has worked on international productions and Hungarian features across a wide range of genres. His documentary work is especially notable — tackling some of the most historically sensitive and underexplored chapters of Central European memory.
His filmography includes The Brigade – the Story of the Voivodinian Petőfi-Brigade, '56 in Vojvodina, Portrait of Jenő Utasi, The Bosnian Pyramids, and the experimental film The Documentarist. He is also known for 42/44 a Vajdaságban, Zero, and Sziasztok :).
His most acclaimed work, 42/44 a Vajdaságban, offers the most authentic simultaneous exploration to date of the 1942 Cold Days and the 1944/45 partisan terror, drawing on conversations with Hungarian and Serbian experts and never-before-seen archival footage. Another documentary, Vajdaság kincsének őrzői, pays tribute to the guardians of Voivodinian ethnographic heritage — Dr. Burány Béla, Bodor Anikó, and the Szöllősi Vágó couple.
His films have screened and competed at international festivals including the Savaria Film Festival, the Martovski Festival in Belgrade, the Mérida Film Festival in Mexico, the Bahia Independent Cinema Festival in Brazil, the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Film Festival in India, and the Tuzla International Film Festival.
