CV

Attila Kékesi was born in 1967 in Budapest. He received his first diploma as a computer programmer and systems analyst. He studied at Tamás Féner photography school from 1992 to 1993. Its impact he applied to the University of Theatre and Film Arts where he received cinematographer diploma in 1996 and director diploma in 1999. From 1996 he worked as editor in documentaries, edited appr. 20-25 films. He teaches from 2001 at the University of Theatre and Film Arts, from 2010 as an assistant professor, from 2015 as an associate professor. He got his DLA degree in 2010 and took his habilitation in 2019. Together with Tamás Almási he is the founder of the documentary film directing master course at the University of Theatre and Film Arts where he teaches from its accreditation in 2012 as co-head of the course. With Tamás Almási and Erika Winkler he established the international Joint Master Course in documentary film directing called DocNomads, which has European international accreditation by now with joint diploma. The European Union gave this course a prestigious recognition in 2019 with the label of “success story”. Attila Kékesi is the member of the Academic Board of DocNomads Joint Master from the beginning, he is co-course director from 2012 to 2017 and course director from 2018.
