Hanna Sára Kádár left the University of Theatre and Film Arts (SZFE) due to attacks of the Hungarian government; she interrupted her studies in Budapest and graduated in 2022 from the VŠMU in Bratislava as a documentary filmmaker.
She received her diploma for the film 'Visiting Mamajé', which explores intergenerational connections. Coming from a large family, she is interested in the functional and dysfunctional dynamics of families; her approach offers an intimate glimpse into complex situations, without judgment. Her short film 'Separated' was screened at Verzió in 2021 as part of the freeSZFE section. In 2023, she served as a jury member for the Young European Stories section at FIPADOC.
She currently lives in Brussels, where she is shooting a personal documentary about her emigration and the grandmother she left behind.
